Our firm’s real estate section provides a broad range of transactional and litigation experience. The firm’s real estate attorneys who practice in the area have experience in the front end of the transaction, including acquisitions, sales, leasing, financing, development as well as litigation relating to commercial and residential properties, loan defaults or tenant bankruptcies. We make it a point to be familiar with our clients’ individual objectives, styles, and business methodology so that we can better assist our clients in achieving their business goals, whether the process involves documentation, purchase and sale agreements, loan documents, construction contracts, leases, brokerage arrangements, and/or the formation and qualification of the necessary entities, whether partnerships, joint ventures, corporations, or other legal entities. We work as a team with our clients so as to protect their interests, always keeping in mind that the ultimate goal is the successful, efficient conclusion of the deal at a reasonable cost. The firm is able to bring a unique perspective to our real estate clients given our substantial experience in representing commercial lenders in real estate loans, workouts, foreclosures and deficiency actions.
The firm also has significant experience representing commercial landlords in tenant reorganizations and bankruptcy cases. Our bankruptcy lawyers have successfully represented landlords in some of the largest Chapter 11 cases filed all over the country in a wide variety of industries including retail, manufacturing and pharmaceutical. Our services include providing assistance with lease modifications, advising on general credit and bankruptcy collection issues and handling bankruptcy litigation.
