JILL G. VANDERPLOEG
As a former full-time litigator, Jill VanderPloeg brings a big picture perspective to her transactional work with business owners, banks and real estate investors. Jill’s legal practice now focuses primarily on general business, financing, and real estate transactions. Jill serves as general corporate counsel to business clients, as well as handling real estate and leasing transactions, and is experienced in trademark registration and enforcement. Jill also represents financial institutions in negotiating and documenting loan transactions, with an emphasis on energy lending. However, Jill still litigates business disputes, and she handles the firm’s appeals before both state and federal appellate courts. Jill’s reported appellate cases include In re Jacobsen, 609 F.3d 647 (C.A.5 (Tex) 2010) and Monumental Life Ins. Co. v. Hayes-Jenkins, 403 F.3d 304 (C.A.5 (Tex) 2005).
Jill began practicing law in 1996 and is licensed in Texas and Colorado. She received her Juris Doctor from the University of Denver College of Law where she served as General Editor of the Denver University Law Review. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. In her free time, Jill enjoys raising and training horses.
